Serenity at Chilandari
A monk living in the monastery of Chilandari is seated outside of his cell holding a Serbian Gospel book. Chilandari was refounded by Saint Sava at the end of the 12th century and since then, it has been populated by Serbian Orthodox monks. Contemplation of the Scriptures and individual prayer are crucial daily rituals for the monks of Mount Athos.
